Fact-Checking Policy

Last updated: March 07, 2026

As an insurance education platform covering YMYL topics, Policentra maintains a rigorous fact-checking process for all published content.

Who Fact-Checks Our Content

All content is reviewed by our Research and Fact-Checking Lead, who has 6 years of experience in data journalism and policy research with a graduate degree from Northwestern Medill School of Journalism. The fact-checker operates independently from writers and editors.

What We Verify

  • Statistics and numbers: Must cite a named authoritative source with publication date.
  • Regulatory and legal info: Cross-referenced against current state or federal guidelines directly from the regulatory body.
  • Product-specific claims: Verified against current carrier offerings and policy documents.
  • Market claims and trends: Confirmed through NAIC data, III reports, or peer-reviewed research.
  • Links and references: All outbound links checked for accuracy and accessibility.

Multi-Source Standard

High-impact claims require confirmation from at least two independent authoritative sources. Single-source claims are noted as such.

Unverifiable Claims

Claims that cannot be traced to an authoritative source are removed or explicitly marked as unverified.

Post-Publication Verification

Quarterly audits of high-traffic pages. Regulatory changes trigger priority re-verification.

Report an Error

Email corrections@policentra.com with the article URL, the specific claim, and any supporting evidence. We investigate within 24 hours.
