Our Methodology

Last updated: March 07, 2026

This page documents how Policentra researches, writes, verifies, and maintains content.

How We Research

Research starts with primary regulatory sources, not blogs, aggregators, or social media. Health insurance content references CMS documentation. State auto insurance guides draw from state DOI filings. Industry statistics come from NAIC annual reports, III data, or peer-reviewed actuarial studies. Secondary sources provide context but are never the sole basis for factual claims.

How We Write

Writers are assigned topics within their professional expertise. Each article begins with a structured outline targeting the specific questions a consumer would ask. We write in plain language and define technical terms. We do not pad content for word count.

How We Fact-Check

Our fact-checking lead independently verifies every article before publication, confirming that all statistics cite named primary sources, all regulatory info matches current guidelines, all product claims reflect current offerings, and all links are live and accurate.

How We Maintain Content

  • Quarterly reviews for high-impact pages
  • Event-driven updates when major regulatory changes occur
  • Continuous monitoring via regulatory feeds and industry news

Every article displays a last-reviewed date.

How We Handle Rankings

Product comparisons are based on coverage features, consumer value, regulatory standing, and publicly available satisfaction data (NAIC complaint ratios, J.D. Power ratings). Advertising never influences rankings. Affiliate links are always disclosed.

Limitations

Policentra provides education, not personalized advice. Insurance varies by state. Verify with a licensed agent or your state DOI.
